Wearable Lights via

Programmed Microcontroller

This garment is a prototype for a wearable skirt with inset programmable lights, which can be controlled via remote. I created the code for the remote control function and lighting sequences in Arduino IDE, and wired the electronics to fit inside an attached pouch at the center back.

This garment features the following electrical components:

  • Arduino Uno microcontroller

  • 2 1/2 strings of WS2811 addressable LEDs

  • A battery holder for 4 AA batteries, with built in on/off switch

  • An IF radio signal reciever

  • A 1 µF capacitor
